A NEW OIL-SEPARATION SOLUTION

Makes the process of recovering and separating immiscible liquids quicker and more eficcient – especially spilled oil products and/or pollutants from water. This, in a nutshell, is the function of DISOLEA, the innovative technological platform designed, manufactured and patented by Sanseverino.
A system that is both simple and ecient, versatile and cost-eective – the ideal solution to all multi-phase immiscible liquid separation problems.
All liquids recovered are both chemically and physically unaltered, which means they can be re-used without further treatment.

READY FOR ACTION IN ANY SITUATION

Simplicity and speed of installation are the most important characteristics of DISOLEA, allowing immediate use in various situations. DISOLEA’s relatively small size and light weight mean it can be used easily both for fixed installations and on board
vessels or in vehicles. DISOLEA is also available as a stand-alone facility mounted inside a standard 20 foot (6 m) container.
Manufactured in different versions, each with its own suction capacity, it can also be connected in parallel to increase the quantity of processed liquids.
In specific cases, it can also be connected to a purification system that can completely remove all traces of residual pollutant from water.

THE POWER OF SIMPLICITY




DISOLEA is based on a purely physical principle. The machine exploits the different density and viscosity of the immiscible fluids and their different flow velocities as they pass through the elements inside the tank: this separates and re-aggregates
them on the basis of their density. This enables all liquids, whatever their density, to be recovered in a single step, including low-density and -viscosity ones (e.g. gasoline, diesel and naphtha), which cannot be recovered using other systems.

Separation tank

This is where liquids are separated and recovered. The inlet for the liquid to be treated (i.e. coming from the pump) is located at the bottom of the tank. The outlet for higher-density liquid is on the side of the tank a little further up, while the outlet for the lower-density liquid is at the top of the tank. There are three more outlets for monitoring water and oil levels, and for an internal pressure gauge. The bottom of the tank has an outlet for removing sludge and solid residues.

Safety

The maximum-pressure valve (or bypass) is fitted onto the pump outlet and serves to limit the pressure throughout the system to no more than 3 to 3.5 bar.

Pump

The peristaltic pump uses a rotor connected to a set of rollers, which squeeze a flexible tube and thus push the liquid along.
The main advantages are:

  • no contact between liquid and rotor
  • suction does not emulsify liquids
  • precise measurement of the volume of liquid
  • requires no priming on start-up.

Skimmer

The skimmer is the device used to recover the oily liquid that floats on water. It consists mainly of:

  • a suction pump for the liquids
  • a suction depth regulator
  • skimmer floats.

In addition, the process is so quick that within a matter of minutes separated liquids, which pass down different conduits, can be recovered, as can any solid residues they

FROM ENVIRONMENTAL EMERGENCIES TO INDUSTRIAL PLANTS

The ideal field of application for DISOLEA is the recovery of crude oil and its products (spills or leakage from oil tankers, oil pipelines or deep-sea wells), the recovery of refinery products (diesel, gasoline, fuel oil etc.) mixed with refinery waste waters, the recovery of oily products mixed with process waters (e.g. palm oil refineries) as well as the recovery of oily waste (from industrial washing liquids to bilge waste water), thus minimising residual water disposal costs.

DISOLEA CAN BE EASILY INSTALLED ON BOARD SHIP 

Pollution containment booms are used to circumscribe the area for intervention. A special weir skimmer with automatic pressure compensation is connected to the machine.

Once separated, the liquid pollutant is collected in tanks on board ship: all free water is removed, thus considerably reducing storage volumes.

PALM OIL RECOVERY OPERATIONS

Used in treating process water at palm oil refineries, DISOLEA can be used to recover pure product which is usually found in waste waters, which would otherwise be lost.
Depending on the layout of the system, work can be carried out both in settling tanks and in process tanks.

OPERAZIONI DI RECUPERO DI OLIO DI PALMA

Utilizzato nel trattamento delle acque di lavorazione nelle raffinerie per l’estrazione di olio di palma, DISOLEA consente il recupero del prodotto puro normalmente presente nei reflui di scarto, che diversamente verrebbe perso. In base al layout dell’impianto è possibile agire sia nelle vasche di decantazione sia in quelle di processo.

OPERAZIONI DI BONIFICA 
E RECUPERO PETROLIO

In ambito petrolifero, DISOLEA consente di recuperare il prodotto greggio sversato nelle Waste Pit presenti nelle raffinerie e negli impianti estrattivi. È possibile anche intervenire per migliorare l’efficienza di impianti separatori API, normalmente presenti in questi siti, agendo direttamente nelle vasche di calma. Inoltre, DISOLEA consente di recuperare il prodotto (benzina, gasolio ecc.) durante la bonifica o il lavaggio dei serbatoi di stoccaggio sia in deposito sia nelle stazioni di distribuzione, nonché nelle ferro-cisterne e nelle auto-cisterne.

Nel corso degli ultimi anni ha effettuato numerosi interventi in diversi ambiti ed in varie parti del mondo con risultati positivi riconosciuti.
